Casino Rama funds are available to members of Fort William First Nation provided they meet the eligibility requirements listed below

 
Fort William First Nation Casino Rama Funds Business Grant Program Description

The Fort William First Nation Business Grant program has been created to expand the business development for the Fort William First Nation membership. Grants are awarded to successful applicants for the purpose of the start-up, expansion or acquisition of a commercially viable business.

Grant Awarded

Grants awarded are 10% of the total project capital requirements to a maximum of 75% for start-up and 25% for expansion or acquisition

Eligibility

  • Member of the Fort William First Nation
  • Start-up, expansion or acquisition of a commercial business
  • Sole proprietorship or majority owner of partnership
  • Actively involved in running the business
  • Development of a business plan that demonstrates commercial viability
  • Minimum of 10% applicant equity contribution of cash or assets integral to the business (excludes vehicles unless prime business use)
  • May be required to take additional training in management, financing or other areas that address the needs of the business
  • Successful applicants can reapply after 5 years

 


 
Evaluation
  • Business plans are assessed by a qualified professional based on their commercial viability, merit and the overall financial package assembled and a recommendation is made to the Casino Rama Allocation and Distribution Committee.
     
  • The Casino Rama Allocation and Distribution Committee review applications and make recommendations to FWFN Council for approval. The grant awards are based on funds available, eligibility and recommendations of the business plan assessment.
